Emotional Freedom Technique or Tapping

According to the American Psychological Association, psychological trauma is an emotional response to a terrible event. Psychological trauma can lead to a wide variety of physical and emotional distress, such as fears, phobias, physical pain, anxiety, depression and even PTSD. There are many conventional methods of addressing this trauma; however, sometimes we need to go beyond. Robin Bilazarian, Robert Schwarz and David Feinstein in their class ‘Emotional Freedom Technique and Tapping’ show that over the past few decades, new, more unconventional methods to calm the sensations in the body and deal with negative thoughts and distressing emotions have been introduced. EFT is one of the powerful tools in this unconventional approach by working with both the rational and emotional sides of the brain concurrently.

I teach this as self-help, stress reducing approach. It can rapidly reduce the impact of memories that trigger emotional distress. EFT is considered a form of psychological acupressure and requires the user to physically ‘tap’ on different acupressure points on parts of their own body.
